Do we have to include special characters in our passwords?
You don’t need to include any special characters in your password for it to be strong, unless the application asks you to. The key is to have a long password and not to use any personal information that may be known (birthday, address, pet’s name), consecutive letters or numbers, a single word from the dictionary or a common phrase.
