As mentioned in the August 17, 2023 communication, as part of iA Financial Group’s Privacy Now Awareness Campaign, your clients have received, or will receive shortly, an electronic or paper communication informing them that we may collect, use and disclose their personal information, and that they may choose to withdraw their consent to that effect if they so desire.

Note that the iAFG client communication has already been sent to your clients created in Univeris before August 22, 2023. For clients created in Univeris between August 22 and September 17, the client communication will continue to be sent to them progressively by iAFG until the week of September 15.

This means that for all clients created in Univeris on and after September 8, 2023, the process to collect clients’ consents related to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information must be done via the updated NCAF/KYC Update Form as detailed below.

Below is the new section which has been added to the Investia NCAFs (nominee, TFSA and client-name accounts) and KYC Update Form to collect clients’ consents:

On the NCAF*:

*The section number (16 above) will differ among the TFSA, nominee and client-name form.

Update by Representatives:

From then on, after completing the form with the client, Representatives will be responsible for documenting the client’s consent preference in Univeris as follows:

Update by clients:

Clients will also be able to update their consent preferences themselves by visiting the Privacy Notice at ia.ca/privacy-notice. More details will be provided about this process in an upcoming communication.

Availability of forms in Univeris

The amended forms will be available in Univeris tomorrow, Friday, September 8.
