National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – Trade Day Only on Monday, October 2, 2023
Top news September 28, 2023As you may know, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is held each year on September 30 to commemorate the tragic legacy of residential schools in Canada.
This year, September 30 falls on a Saturday, which means that banks will observe the National Truth and Reconciliation day on Monday, October 2, 2023. While the markets will be open for trading, please be advised that there will be no settlements on October 2, similar to Remembrance Day.
All transactions placed on Friday, September 29 (which would normally settle on October 2) will settle on Tuesday, October 3. For your reference, below is a copy of a chart provided by Fundserv to help determine the proper trade and settlement dates surrounding this holiday:
Note that our office will be open on Friday and Monday during regular business hours.
