In today’s digital world, cyberattacks are an unfortunate reality which poses an increasing threat. At Investia, one of our key priorities is to provide advisors with continuous guidance, support and tools to help ensure their clients’ and their own personal information remains protected at all times.

Further to the August 5, 2021 issue of your 360, below you will find important reminders regarding cybersecurity and email protection, as well as a summary of the key tools and materials available at Investia to help protect your practice and reduce the risk of cyberattacks on your business.

Document & Message Sharing between Advisors and their Clients – Investia Client Portal

As a much safer alternative to email, the Investia Client Portal Document Sharing Tool allows advisors to send messages and documents to their clients in an entirely secure manner. Conversely, clients can also log into their portals to easily and securely share confidential documents and messages with you.

Document Sharing between Advisors and Head Office – Investia Advisor Centre

We would like to remind you that instructions related to client transactions must not be sent to Investia by email but by fax, or preferably via the Secure File Upload Tool on the Advisor Centre. This tool is the recommended option to send all your documents to Head Office, whether for imaging or processing, because it ensures a protected and entirely secure connection.

Password-Protected Documents from Head Office

When sending files to advisors by email, our Head Office staff password protects each file to ensure no one intercepts the email and accesses the confidential information it may contain. The password to open these files can be found on the Investia Advisor Centre home page, and it is amended on a quarterly basis.

Electronic Signature Tool and Remote Account Opening

In order to facilitate the transmission of important documents to clients, including account application forms, and as such reduce the use of email, we also encourage you to use our secure electronic signature tool, as well as our remote account procedure to open new client accounts remotely.
